Where the stories come from
Every morning we read the fashion and beauty feeds of 37 publications, around 281 articles a day, using their public RSS feeds and official APIs:
Vogue · Allure · Business of Fashion · WWD · Harper's Bazaar · Elle · Glamour · Glossy · Who What Wear · Fashionista · Nylon · Hypebeast · Highsnobiety · Dazed · i-D · Harper's Bazaar Singapore · Elle Singapore · South China Morning Post · The Monodist · Kherblog · Nylon Singapore · Her World Singapore · Vogue Korea · W Korea · Elle Korea · Allure Korea · Harper's Bazaar Korea · Vogue Japan · Elle Japan · Harper's Bazaar Japan · The Guardian · British Vogue · Harper's Bazaar UK · Elle UK · Glamour UK · Cosmopolitan UK · Drapers
We show the headline, a short summary in our own words and a link to the original. We never copy articles or use magazine photography. The original reporting is theirs, and every story credits it.
The process
How an edition gets made
- Every morning, new articles from the last day are collected from fashion and beauty publications in Asia, the US, Europe and the UK.
- Articles about the same story are grouped together, so five outlets covering one launch count as one story.
- An AI model sorts each one into fashion, beauty, business or celebrity, tags the trends and colours it mentions, and drafts a plain-English summary.
- A second model picks the running order and writes the “why it matters” notes.
- A human reads the edition before the newsletter goes out. AI gets names and details wrong sometimes. If you spot a mistake, tell us.
Trend scoring
Rising, Peaking, Fading
For each trend we count how many articles mention it this week and compare that with the average week over the previous month. Where available we add how much people are discussing it in fashion and beauty communities on Reddit.
- Rising: at least 25% more buzz than usual. Try it.
- Peaking: steady and widely covered. Everyone's wearing it.
- Fading: 20% or more below its usual level.
- Watching: not enough data yet to call it. We'd rather say so than guess.
The palette of the week works the same way: it's the five colours the press mentioned most over the last seven days. The “where it came from” images are public-domain pieces from The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Open Access collection.
Money
Products and affiliate links
Beauty Worth It picks products linked to the week's trending beauty terms, ranked by rating and price, and always shows a cheaper alternative. Some links may be affiliate links: if you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Every affiliate link is labelled on the page where it appears, and commission never decides what we feature.
